Recently I had the opportunity to collaborate with my dear friend, Noreen, on a very fun project. She is an ardent quilter/seamstress, and was wondering if I might have a way to give her well-loved and heavily used Pfaff sewing machine a “facelift”. I create decals for a variety of purposes and it sounded like a great opportunity for creative play – and possibly even a new little side hustle.
After we met and talked about what she was envisioning, I thought printable stickers would be the best choice and would allow for far more options than creating flat fitted pattern designs. We went back and forth with several design options – and settled on soft pastel florals and butterflies. She loved the finished design (me, too! 🙂 ). I enjoyed the process so much that I’m now offering this fun “sewing machine makeover” to others!
As a professional artist and web designer, I have licensed and created a wide range of designs that can be adapted to many surface sizes and shapes. Some people want only a design on their carrying case – and others range from just a simple name design to more complex applications. I am also creating “sticker packs” that have a number of coordinated decals that people can apply on their own. I print the designs on high quality white matte waterproof sticker material for extra durability. While sewing machines are unlikely (!!!) to end up in water, the material and the sealant I apply help protect the design from dirt, oil, and general handling.
If you are interested in dressing up your sewing machine (and/or case), you can contact me here. I respond quickly. Design costs depend on the complexity of the design chosen and the number of decals – but most machines can be decorated for under $30.
