I don’t know about you, but I have a serious Pinterest addiction. Pinterest – for me, at least – is the easiest site on which I can search for specific styles of art, types of crafts, and artists/crafters without being completely inundated with ads. Yes – ads are prevalent on Pinterest – but you can at least somewhat “curate” your interests unlike so many other social media sites. As a creator, it is also an easy place to add my own creations and sometimes get a bit of feedback from other artists/crafters.
I use Pinterest a LOT when I’m trying to figure out how to paint or draw a particular object, creature or place. For example, today I went on a search for “old churches with images of people standing outside” and found some beautiful examples that I can reference to feed my imagination when drawing/painting. As with any media site, it should go without saying, that we all must be very careful as creators that we use images appropriately and with regard to attribution, copyrights, and trademarks

One of the funny things I have found out about myself from my Pinterest perusing, is that I save a bunch of things then go back and look though them – and most of the time they are actually pinnings of articles/images from around 2012-2017. Evidently that was a prime time for me in regard to what influences my creative juices! I got the above idea for a rock painting a long while back after looking at a bunch of dragons by Pinterest artists. Dragons and rock painting were all the rage during that time period.
Well, I’m supposed to be doing my inventory/COGS for my business so I can get my tax preparation wrapped up. Just about the furtherst thing from what my creative heart/brain wants to do.
Have a WONDERFUL, CREATIVE day!
